Fiber/Dance Festival 2012
Festival Hours 10- 4pm, Vending from 10-4pm each day.
Friday May 4th
6:00pm Gala at Wynola Pizza Express, featuring Mountain Tribal Gypsy, Ophira Tribal Dance, Roya Tribal Bell Dance, and Gypsy Blossoms and the Scimitar Dance Company.
Saturday May 5th
10am till 12pm Beginning ATS Workshop “Weaving the Fibers” of Dance. Instructor: Marie Kaplan
This workshop will teach you to balance your “woven baskets” and dance using your beginning and intermediate Movements/Vocabulary of ATS. Things to bring: A prop basket, Zils, head scarf.
Dress: Loose, comfortable clothing or ATS® attire: choli top and circle skirt. The hair should be up and away from the face and neck. *Head scarf should be of textured/cotton or rough fabric. You don’t want your basket to slide!
12pm till 2pm: Spinning with the instructors
2pm till 4pm: Belly Dance perfomances by: Mountain Tribal Gypsy, Roya Tribal Belly Dance, Tribal Dance Jam Collective, Gypsy Nouveau.
Saturday Evening: Drum Circle and Opening Dancing 6:00pm-9:00pm.
Sunday May 6th
10am till 12pm Advanced ATS Workshop “Il’LOOM-ination” Instructor: Marie Kaplan
In this workshop you learn to apply your advanced movements in a new light.
Building on your ATS® vocabulary, we will explore formations and new movements while adding the “Baladi Beat”. These steps and ideas will leave you truly “illuminated”
Things to bring: Zils. $20 advance contact Event Coordinator Info or $25 at the door

12pm till 2pm Free Lecture/Demo “Fibergazm 101″. Instructor: Beryl Warnes. I would like to share my experience of how I arrived where I am the ups and downs etc while demonstrating dressing the loom. Join me while I dispel some of the angst related to dressing a loom and hopefully impart how joyful the process can be. All are welcome.
2pm till 4pm: Belly Dance perfomances by: Mountain Tribal Gypsy, Roya Tribal Belly Dance. RAFFLE* drawing sometime between 2 and 4pm.
